Opus Oaks Faculty

Sheryl Reid

Sheryl’s interest in stained glass started at very young age in Iowa.  Her great-grandmother’s house had a full sized stained glass front door.  A student of Frank Lloyd Wright built the house.  Beginning as a student here at Opus Oaks her knowledge and skill in the art of stained glass advanced rapidly. Soon it became apparent that she would be a valuable instructor.

Sheryl moved to Clarke County in 1962, growing up on a large farm just outside of Berryville.  She is married to Terry Reid who is retired from Fairfax Co. Fire Dept and now works for Loudoun Fire Dept.  She has two grown children, one of which still lives in Winchester.

Sheryl has been active in the community for years.  She has served on Concern Hotline, both as a volunteer and as the president of the board of directors.  She also volunteers with American Red Cross as part of the disaster team here in Clarke County.  Other activities include: past-president of Clarke County Kiwanis, president of the Clarke County Community Services Council, and a volunteer with Blue Ridge Hospice.  She was the citizen of the year for Clarke County in 2002.
