Bonnie Jacobs
Bonnie
makes her living as
an accomplished photographer, free lance artist, art teacher, muralist, and
owner of an air photography business.
She has been teaching art for parks and recreation programs, public
school art programs, through private lessons, missionary programs both
abroad and in the states for 27 years.
She has taught for PAVAN for the past 20 years.
Bonnie studied
painting with Daniel Greene, Howard Sanden, and apprenticed with William
Swetcharnik for five years. She
attended Northern Virginia Community College where she
studied color theory, printmaking, and horticulture.
She had the unique opportunity to work on a project to begin the NOVA
Community College newspaper. In addition, she studied Anthropology at
University of Maryland. Her
interest in museum work led her to volunteer at the Smithsonian for one
year.
Her photographs have
been published in newspapers and books through out the country.
She is currently working on a photo book about women in Clarke
County.
Bonnie teaches oil
painting and photography for
Opus Oaks.
Her knowledge of color, materials and technique is unbelievably
valuable to our school.
Bonnie lives with her
husband, Bob, on a beautifully landscaped property.
They raised three very accomplished children and have three
spectacular granddaughters.
Bonnie and Bob enjoy traveling, meeting new people, and immersing themselves
in new cultures around the world.
