Bonnie Jacobs

Bonnie makes her living as an accomplished photographer, free lance artist, art teacher, muralist, and owner of an air photography business.  She has been teaching art for parks and recreation programs, public school art programs, through private lessons, missionary programs both abroad and in the states for 27 years.  She has taught for PAVAN for the past 20 years.

Bonnie studied painting with Daniel Greene, Howard Sanden, and apprenticed with William Swetcharnik for five years.  She attended Northern Virginia Community College where she  studied color theory, printmaking, and horticulture.  She had the unique opportunity to work on a project to begin the NOVA Community College newspaper. In addition, she studied Anthropology at University of Maryland.  Her interest in museum work led her to volunteer at the Smithsonian for one year.

Her photographs have been published in newspapers and books through out the country.  She is currently working on a photo book about women in Clarke County.

Bonnie teaches oil painting and photography for  Opus Oaks.  Her knowledge of color, materials and technique is unbelievably valuable to our school.

Bonnie lives with her husband, Bob, on a beautifully landscaped property.  They raised three very accomplished children and have three spectacular granddaughters.  Bonnie and Bob enjoy traveling, meeting new people, and immersing themselves in new cultures around the world.
